‘Superman’ star to return to TV for the first time in 11 years

The last time Superman appeared on TV was in 1986, when he appeared on NBC’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.

In the intervening years, the Man of Steel has appeared on The CW’s Arrow and on Fox’s Gotham.

In 2019, the star will return to the big screen for the final time, when Superman Returns will premiere on CBS in 2019.

“Superman Returns is a bold, bold statement that takes us into the next chapter of our legacy as a brand, and brings us into a world that has been transformed by our shared journey,” CBS chairman Les Moonves said in a statement.

The network will also debut the Superman Returns theme song, which has already been certified platinum.

The Superman Returns album is scheduled for release in 2020.
